Mr. Wallace teaches math and serves as the Director of Middle School, overseeing the academic and co-curricular program for students in grades 6-8. Since coming to OVS in 1996, Mr. Wallace has taught mathematics, supervised the boys dorm as a resident counselor, and he continues to lead trips as the Assistant Outdoor Education Coordinator and the Mammoth Mountain Ski & Snowboard Trip leader. As an educator, he believes that the powerful tool and language of mathematics is essential to the success of all students. This drives his desire to challenge and support each student in and out of the classroom. Mr. Wallace is a California native with a deep family history in Scotland. Prior to coming to OVS, he was professionally involved in off-road racing and spent his summers working at Log Cabin Wilderness Camp, a high adventure camp for youth in the eastern Sierra Nevada mountains. He enjoys almost any outdoor activity and his favorites include backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking, road biking, motorcycles, and snowboarding. Mr. Wallace lives in Ojai with his wife, Cassandra, their son, Logan, and daughter, Stirling. He holds a degree in business from CSU Channel Islands.
