Biography

Duncan holds a degree in business from CSU Channel Islands. Since coming to OVS in 1996, Duncan has held a variety of titles during the academic year and summer programs. He believes that the powerful tool and language of mathematics is essential to the success of all students. This drives his desire to challenge and support each student in and out of the classroom. His favorite classroom comes in the form of leading trips as the Assistant Outdoor Education Coordinator and Mammoth Mountain Ski & Snowboard Trip leader. Duncan is a California native with a deep family history in Scotland. Prior to coming to OVS, he was professionally involved in off-road racing and spent his summers working at Log Cabin Wilderness Camp, a high adventure camp for youth in the eastern Sierra Nevada mountains.

 He enjoys almost any outdoor activity and his favorites include backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking, road biking, motorcycles, and snowboarding.

He lives in Ojai with his wife, Cassandra, their son, Logan, and daughter, Stirling.
