Purpose Statement
The purpose of the OVS Parent Club is to support the philosophy of the school by creating a positive atmosphere that furthers a sense of community, spirit, and cultural enrichment.
Ojai Valley School parents are automatically volunteers of the Parent Club on either campus. While supporting and promoting the Annual Fund and other campaigns, the primary purpose of the Parent Club is not fund-raising, but fun-raising, friend-raising, and community-building. Parent Club volunteers work in concert with the School’s administration on a variety of special events and projects, and provide valuable volunteer support to students, faculty, and staff through a variety of rewarding and enriching community activities.
Parent Club Meetings
Parent Club meetings are held monthly and/or as needed throughout the year, typically in the Van Patten Library. All OVS parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to participate. Attendance provides parents with valuable information about school events and helps to create a community that comes together, socially and professionally, toward a common goal to make our school a better place for all of our families.

Parent Club Volunteer Opportunities & Committees
The following listing is a description of the Parent Club committee needs. Please review this list carefully and decide where you find the best fit for your time and talent. Independent schools value the volunteerism of the entire school community. Even full-time working parents can usually find one or two events or activities in which they can be supportive. In addition to committee work, teachers will sometimes express a need for parent volunteers in the classroom, library, or elsewhere. Teachers submit a volunteer request form and those requests are reviewed at each Parent Club meeting.
