Biography

Mr. O’Brien joined the high school faculty in August 2024, bringing his extensive math experience, and passion for track and field to the Upper Campus. This fall he will be teaching AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and Algebra 2. He is also serving as a resident counselor living in Tower House. Mr. O’Brien earned his BA in Mathematics from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA and obtained his Connecticut teaching certification in mathematics. In the classroom, he has experience teaching AP Statistics, AP Calculus, Calculus Honors, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry and 8th grade math. On the track, he has successfully coached 24 All-State Athletes and 10 All-New England Athletes. Mr. O’Brien brings his knowledge to the Upper Campus as the head track and field coach. He is USATF Level 2 Certified in Sprints, Relays, Jumps, Hurdles, and Endurance Running.
