Biography

Ms. Davis stepped into a new role as Director of High School in August 2025. She has spent more than 30 years teaching at the Upper Campus, primarily in the English and Social Studies departments where she taught all levels of English and developed the Humanities curriculum. She also served as the Assistant Head of Upper Campus, overseeing Student Affairs. In 2023, she stepped away from teaching literature and took on a new role as the Ceramics teacher for grades 9-12, bringing her own experience as a potter and artist to the classroom. Ms. Davis has a deep love of our local environment and knowledge of the high school campus. She oversees the school’s Monarch Butterfly program, watching over areas of campus designated for the delicate butterflies. Previously, Ms. Davis served as a resident counselor, swim coach, and she ran the Outdoor Education program. An avid reader, she continues to read widely in natural history, ancient history, and biography as well as fiction and, her first love and vocation: poetry. She has worked as a leader and supervisor for Concerned Resource Environmental Workers (CREW), volunteered as a hike leader for the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy, and participated in biological and botanic field surveys with the USFS. She has also served as committee member and featured local poet for the Ojai Poetry Festival. She enjoys vegetable gardening and spending time with her son, Shaun, an alumnae of both the Lower and Upper campuses, her daughter-in-law, Tamara, and her two grandchildren, Zayd and Zoey.
