Biography

Mrs. Floyd serves as the Director of Student Services and Curriculum at the Lower Campus. In this role, she oversees curriculum development for grades PK-8, coordinates teacher mentoring programs, assists with student assessments, liaises with different departments and manages disciplinary issues. Mrs. Floyd has held various teaching and administrative roles over her years as an educator. She is a graduate of San Diego State University, where she earned her BA in Spanish. She launched her teaching career as a bilingual teacher in Watsonville, California, before moving to the Santa Cruz Mountains, where she taught first grade for 12 years. She also served as a member of the school’s leadership team and as a liaison to bilingual families. Mrs. Floyd attended St. Mary’s graduate program and became a certificated Reading Recovery teacher. More recently, she completed her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading with an Emphasis in Elementary Education. Mrs. Floyd returned to her hometown of Ojai in 2007 to work as a Spanish, Learning Skills, and ESL teacher at the Upper Campus. In 2012, she returned to the elementary classroom as a fifth grade teacher and Elementary Division Coordinator. She lives at the Upper Campus with her husband, Craig. They have two sons, Gavin and Connor, who are both OVS graduates. Mrs. Floyd loves to garden, cook, and travel.
