Ojai Valley School is an equal opportunity employer. We hire individuals solely on the basis of their qualifications and ability to do the job to be filled. Unless otherwise provided in writing, employment with the School is considered to be at-will, so that either party may terminate the relationship at any time with or without cause.
It is the established policy of the Ojai Valley School to provide equal employment opportunity to all qualified persons and to administer all aspects and conditions of employment without regard to race; religious belief; color; sex; pregnancy; age; national origin; ancestry; physical or mental disability; medical condition; marital status, or any other protected classification, in accordance with applicable law.
All applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Assembly Bill 1392 requires all applicants to our school who do not possess a valid California State teaching credential, to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice for the purpose of obtaining a criminal record summary from the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The school will not hire an applicant until the Department of Justice forwards the criminal record summary to the Business Office of the school. When fingerprints are on file, the school will be notified by the Department of Justice of any subsequent convictions.
The school will obtain driving records from the Department of Motor Vehicles on all employees annually. Bus drivers will be registered on a pull notice program. Under this program, the school will be notified by the Department of Motor Vehicles of any subsequent infractions.
Other background investigations may be performed when relevant to the job. Investigations include but are not limited to drug testing, previous employment verification, reference checks, credit checks, and verification of education.
