September 24 – Ojai Valley School students joined millions of young people worldwide last Friday by taking part in the Youth Climate Strike to urge immediate action on climate change.
“We need to raise awareness,” said sophomore Denva Clyburn, a resident student from New York. “More people need to care. This is the only planet we have and we have to start taking care of it. And we have to start right now before it’s too late.”
Students from both campuses took part in the event at Ojai’s Libbey Park, where hundreds peacefully gathered throughout the afternoon. Several OVS students spoke out to help raise awareness and promote solutions.
