Jody teaches Ceramics I and Ceramics II at the Upper Campus. She gained her ceramic education by attending Ventura Community College, Santa Barbara City College, apprenticing with Frank Massarella, as well as continuing her studies by participating in workshops two or three times a year. Jody is an active member of the Ventura County Potters’ Guild and has shown her work in Carpinteria, Ojai, and Thousand Oaks. An alumna, Jody’s years of passionate learning has transformed into a passion for teaching her craft to high school students. She serves as the day student advisor and test coordinator for the SAT, PSAT, and AP exams. When not actively involved with the OVS program, Jody enjoys walking, instructing and teaching adult classes for the OVS community, and spending time with her family.

What working with clay teaches us
Mud can be formed into something beautiful. But there are many steps to the finished piece, and the piece can be lost at any one of those steps, so don’t fall in love with it to early in the process. And beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so appreciate everyone’s work.
Eat, Pray, Love. Travel, food and emotion.
One thing students don’t know about me
