Biography
Melinda is the ESL department coordinator and teaches all levels of ESL language arts and integrated studies. Additionally, she explores and coordinates global studies initiatives and field trips, and serves as a 7th grade advisor. Melinda enjoys camping, hiking, and swimming, therefore, being part of the Outdoor Education Program is a favorite aspect of her job responsibilities.
Melinda graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a liberal arts degree, emphasizing Italian language, world geography, and art history. She has earned her California Clear Credentials in Multiple Subjects and physical education, as well as the CLAD certificate. Before becoming a teacher, her passion for experiencing other cultures, along with her desire to travel, led her to a career as a flight attendant. After traveling extensively, she has settled in Ojai with her husband, Larry, and their son, Ben.
