Located in the heart of Frost Hall, the Lower Campus library serves our PK – 8th grade students. From picture books to engaging and informative texts for middle school students, the Van Patten Library houses a diverse collection of more than 6,500 books. Resources are also available to our parents and teachers.
Primary school children sit comfortably on pillows around librarian Vivian Smith as they listen to a selection of tales during story time. During library class, elementary students study library skills, and have access to the computers, databases, and magazines. Middle school students use the library resources independently, with the assistance of our full-time librarian.
Students often chose a comfortable spot to read inside the library, on a window or before the fire place, and also take their books outside to sit under a tree and enjoy a book. As a literature-based school, the library serves as a hub of campus life for day and resident students.
