Terry Wilson
AP English Language and Composition, English 11, Expository WritingBiography
Terry lives on her family’s citrus ranch in Ojai – a ranch they have farmed for more than seventy years. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a dual major in English/Speech and History. After teaching for eleven years first at Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek and then at Castilija School in Palo Alto, she retired to have a family. After accumulating too many horses for the Portola Valley property, she brought them to the Ojai ranch in 1986. She was subsequently asked to become the OVS Equestrian Director, a position she held for many years. More recently Terry has returned to the classroom, teaching the junior-level English classes at the Upper Campus.
As an equestrian, Terry has been a dressage competitor, trainer, and instructor, as well as a Dutch Warmblood breeder. Terry has become a well-known and respected member of the equestrian community, serving as professional adviser to the California Dressage Society and on the national board of the United States Dressage Federation. Terry enjoys time with her family, her animals, all kinds of sports, reading good books, hiking the Sierras, traveling to Europe, and especially playing with her granddaughter, Alexandra.
