Micah Sittig
AP Physics I, AP Physics II, Astronomy, Robotics, Conceptual ChemistryBiography
After a childhood split between Spain and Southern California, Micah Sittig graduated from the California Institute of Technology with a degree in applied physics and then spent nine years teaching science and math in Shanghai, China. In Shanghai he was involved with a local amateur astronomy group, served as the director of the school’s astronomical observatory, and he volunteered for the city’s subway system.
Coming back to the U.S. in 2014, Micah was drawn to OVS for its family-like atmosphere, wide-range of co-curricular activities, and high standards for academic achievement.
Outside of class, you’ll most likely find him engrossed in a Chinese novel, watching a soccer game, or star-hopping through a telescope or binoculars. Micah looks forward to exploring real science with OVS students and escaping the big city to explore the valleys and hills of the Ojai area. He and his wife live on campus along with their three daughters.
