At OVS, technology is integrated daily into student life both inside and outside of the classroom. Most students bring their own laptop computers and enjoy campus-wide wireless Internet access. The wireless network allows high school students to conduct research and collaborative projects from their dorm rooms as well as the library and outdoor areas. Classrooms feature a variety of technological resources, including interactive white boards, projectors, education-related software tools, and computer labs. The school supports all modern operating systems.
The use of electronic information resources is a privilege and intended for educational purposes, such as Internet research for class assignments. Students can also use technology to keep in contact with friends and family via email and Skype, but this use is limited to non-academic times such as weekends and/or after study hall. In order for students to have access to these resources, they must first agree to adhere to the Technology Acceptable Use Policy and Pledge.
