The school has developed an intensive English as a Second Language program (ESL) for international students who are still developing their skills in reading, writing, and speaking English. The ESL program’s prime objective is the eventual mainstreaming of students into the mainstream college prep curriculum. ESL students take academic classes in advanced reading, writing, and history with experienced ESL instructors. They are mainstreamed with other students for math, fine arts, and sports. ESL students are generally admitted only to grade 9. During the Admissions process, students must submit standardized testing and complete a personal interview to demonstrate their level of English language proficiency.
OVS offers support services and accommodations for students with mild to moderate learning differences, such as dyslexia and ADHD. We also offer support classes for elementary, middle, and high school students who need to improve their organizational and study skills. These support services vary in terms of fees and instructional time. They are not included in the tuition.
