Ojai Valley School provides support and accommodations for students with mild to moderate learning differences, such as dyslexia and ADHD. Services vary from help with planning and organization to more intensive academic support. There are additional fees for these services that are not included in the tuition. During the Admissions process families should provide documentation such as an IEP, educational assessment or other evaluations.
In addition to learning support, the school offers English as a Second Language (ESL) support for international students who are still developing their skills in reading, writing, and speaking English. The ESL program’s objective is the eventual mainstreaming of students into the curriculum. ESL students take classes in reading, writing, and history. They are mainstreamed with other students for math, fine arts, and sports. At the high school level, ESL students are generally admitted only to grade 9. During the Admissions process, students should submit testing to demonstrate their level of English language proficiency.
