Ojai Valley School offer a range of courses, including 19 Advanced Placement (AP) and honors courses across the disciplines. All of Ojai Valley School’s courses are approved by the University of California. Our minimum graduation requirements for college recommendation are 17 units which include: 4 English, 3 Social Science, 3 Foreign Language, 3 Math, 3 Laboratory Science, and 1 Fine Arts.
Most OVS students go beyond the minimum requirements to take additional courses depending on their interests and their intended college majors. A student interested in medicine, for example, may elect to take additional science and math classes, while a student eager to attend a fine arts college may complete the minimum requirements for those subjects to make room for additional art classes, such as ceramics, photography or AP studio art.
Students work closely with Dean of Studies Laurel Colborn on crafting an individual schedule of classes that meets the graduation requirements, but also supports their interests and advances their educational goals.
