The OVS Upper School Library is happy and excited to announce that OverDrive is now available to students and staff.
What is OverDrive? Good question!
Overdrive is the name of our digital library. Overdrive allows you to download ebooks to use on your home computer or mobile device.
You can check out and download the following types of digital materials using Overdrive.
- Adobe® PDF eBooks
- Adobe® EPUB eBooks
- Kindle eBooks
To access these digital materials you need…
- A library ID number (available from the library).
- Internet access (preferably high speed) and/or a wireless connection.
- A computer or device that meets the system requirements for the digital materials you want to check out (Mac and Windows computers, iPads and other Apple devices, Androids, Kindles, Nooks, and Sony Readers. For a complete list, click here).
- Free software for your computer or compatible device.
- An Adobe ID.
We currently have 50 amazing ebooks for you to peruse as well as access to the complete works of Project Gutenberg (Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Jane Austen, etc.) Setting up and using Overdrive is super easy; just come in an see Mr. Brough to get started and you’ll be on your way to becoming an expert reader!
