Ojai Valley School’s varsity soccer team scored its first victory of the season on Wednesday, a 3-0 win over visiting Oak Grove School at the Lower Campus.

Sophomore Travis Dollarhyde, playing his first game of the season, scored a goal in the game. Max Pacholski also scored a goal. Senior captain Chris Kang sealed the victory with the third goal for the Spuds.

Freshman Jesse Clapoff and sophomore Gunnar Helman shared time as goalkeepers.  Juniors Juno Zhang, Cha Cha Zhang and freshman Ryan Jones – all of three of whom usually play offense – were solid on defense in earning the shutout.

“It was a pleasure to see our team make a simple game, simple in how they worked as a team to come out victorious,” OVS senior captain Hunter Helman said.
