When the opportunity arose, Melanie jumped at the chance to pursue her passion for teaching. She has been a primary aide for eight years. Melanie is also helping with the elementary school play and, for two years, she has been the after-school coordinator. She enjoys this position as it gives her ample time to get to know students of all ages and feel a part of the whole school.

Melanie has lived in Ojai all her life. She and her husband, Rob, are raising two children, Destani, who attends fifth grade at OVS, and Ryder, who is a 2-year-old toddler. Melanie enjoys race cars, football, fashion and poetry.
