Melinda teaches middle school level second language learners in the subjects of language arts, social studies, and science. Additionally, she is a middle school physical education instructor and coach. Melinda enjoys camping, hiking, and swimming in cold rivers, therefore, being part of the outdoor education program is a favorite aspect of her job responsibilities.

Melinda graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a liberal arts degree, emphasizing Italian language, world geography, and art history. She has also earned her California Clear Credentials in Multiple Subject and physical education and the CLAD certificate. Before becoming a teacher, her passion for experiencing other cultures, along with her desire to travel, led her to a career as a flight attendant. After traveling extensively, she settled in Ventura. She now lives in Ojai with her husband, Larry, and their son, Ben.
