AP Chemistry
AP chemistry is a course that provides students with a rigorous college-level lab science experience in the high school environment. The main objective of the course is to prepare students to pass the AP chemistry exam in May for university credit. Students will develop study skills and higher level thinking skills commonly attributed to college freshmen.
Topics covered in AP chemistry are stoichiometry, reactions, gases, thermochemistry, atomic structure, bonding, VSEPR Theory, liquids and solids, properties of solutions, kinetics, equilibrium, acids and bases, acid and base equilibria, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, nuclear chemistry, and organic/ polymer chemistry.
